  • Growing.

During the spring and summer our garden boxes are filled with luscious, fluffy dirt and compost.  Nestled inside of their designated holes sit the young plants eager to be watered while basking in the sun as they grow into beautiful mature plants ready to be harvested.

  • Harvesting.

Once the plants reach their peak production, they are carefully picked, washed and hung out to dry.

It is the dried herbs that we are able to then strip off of stems and store in their containers until we are ready to begin infusing, cooking, steeping or baking with them.

  • Infusing.

When creating a batch of Blitz arnica and comfrey salve or Hush lip and body balm, we start by first infusing the herbs into extra virgin olive oil. This process takes at least 6 weeks.  After carefully measuring out the oil and the required dried herbs into the gallon sized jar, the jar is then placed inside of our kitchen cabinets where it sits until the infusing has taken place.

  • Creating.

After infusion is completed, it’s time to create the finished product. Straining the oil to separate it from all the dried herbs. Beeswax is then melted on a low heat. The oil is poured into the pot and it all mixes together. Once all the herbs and the oil are thoroughly mixed, we carefully add the essential oils. The herb infused oil are then poured into the awaiting containers.
